The 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength is highly absorbed by melanin, making it particularly useful for suitable lighter skin types with darker hair.
The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and has lower melanin absorption, giving our practitioners an important option when treating darker skin types.

One of the major advantages of having a dual-wavelength platform is the ability to select different wavelengths and treatment parameters according to the patient. Clarity II has been designed for applications across a broad range of skin types. However, suitability does not mean identical treatment settings for everyone. Your skin type, tanning history, medications, medical history, treatment area and individual concern all need to be considered before treatment. This is why every new laser patient at Medipro Clinics receives an appropriate consultation and skin assessment before beginning their treatment programme.
The sensation varies according to the treatment being performed, the area being treated and the settings required. Patients often describe laser pulses as brief sensations of heat or a quick snapping feeling. At Medipro Clinics, we also use a Zimmer Cryo cooling system where appropriate to deliver a continuous stream of chilled air to the skin, helping to make treatment more comfortable.
There isn’t one answer for every patient. For laser hair removal, multiple sessions are required because hair grows through different stages and only a proportion of follicles are at the optimum stage for treatment at any one time. Pigmentation and vascular concerns may respond differently depending upon the type, depth and extent of the concern. Collagen and rejuvenation programmes are generally planned as a course to create progressive improvement.
